World Cancer Day: We can. I can.

Cancer is one of the world’s biggest killers; each year it kills 8.2 million people. Because of this, World Cancer Day aims to raise awareness ultimately reduce these statistics.

With one in three people expected to develop cancer in their lifetime, World Cancer Day’s ‘We can. I can.’ campaign aims to promote what everyone, sufferers and non-sufferers alike, can do to help change perceptions, improve sufferers’ lives and ultimately increase the survival rate.

To achieve this, the campaign wants people to make decisions in their daily lives that can hugely affect the way cancer is perceived and treated. This includes:

• Making healthy choices that can keep cancer at bay
• Recognise signs and symptoms
• Understand early detection saves lives
• Ask for support
• Support others
• Speak out and share your story

Here at Kare Plus, we are proud to support such an international and worthwhile campaign. Many of our customers suffer from or have come in to contact with cancer, so we know the damage it can cause.

Although we have come so far with cancer treatment and the survival rate is improving, there is still so much more to do. Thankfully, because of campaigns such as World Cancer Day, awareness is increasing and cures are closer than ever.
