Back in March, Kare Plus took great pride in supporting Disabled Access Day - and we were by no means alone in doing so!

In only its second year, the number of people who took part in the day increased ten times to nearly 11,000 and the number of venues involved rose to 1,067 right across the country. These venues included independent shops, Barclays banks, Caffé Nero coffee shops and much more.

The main reasons highlighted for taking part in the day’s events was to test new equipment and try new things. Out of those surveyed following the event, 96% said they would take part again next year too.

With such a successful second year behind them, the organisers of Disabled Access Day have already set next year date and have extended the event to a 3 day affair from Friday 10th March to Sunday 12th March – with activities, events and venues opening across the whole weekend.

During the day, Kare Plus discussed the challenges disabled people face on a daily basis, celebrated the retail outlets, venues and museums that were taking part in the day and highlighted what we can all do to help disabled people overcome their daily challenges.
