Caregivers are an important part of our economy, and at Kare Plus Redbridge we are proud of all of our staff who work tirelessly to make their communities a better place for those who are in need of care. There are many misplaced opinions of those who work in care. Find out below how any caregiver, be it a Nurse, Healthcare Assistant, Support Worker or Home Carer play such a big role in taking care of their communities.

People often say that all caregiving services are the same, and this couldn’t be further from the truth, especially when it comes to us at Kare Plus Redbridge. We have a variety of employees and services available for those who are in need. It’s important to remember that care services are run by different companies and individuals, so they should not all be tarred with the same brush! We are proud of our reputation at Kare Plus Redbridge, we always strive to be the best!

We have come across the myth in the past that most caregivers are middle-aged women. Where we do have a lot of these women on our books who are very good at their jobs, in today’s society the number of carers who are men and who are aged 18-30 is growing.

“Homecare is only for the very ill” Yes – some people do stay at home and can receive palliative care from the comfort of their own homes. It is not the case that you have to be very ill to receive care at home. Some people may require just a little extra time around the house. When this is the case, non-medical home care is an option. Companionship services can also be provided for those who are in need.

People often think that nurses are only found in hospitals, this is not true! There are a huge and varying number of roles out there for nurses, depending on what environment they choose to work in. This can be in the hospital, in the community and in a variety of other areas.

Nurses can also be pigeonholed as people think they are ‘all the same’. The day in the life of a nurse can vary drastically depending on the setting. There are also a large number of specialisations that nurses can go into, meaning that nurses are certainly not clones of each other.

There are a variety of roles within the care industry, and a variety of misconceptions that go with them. If you think that a role in the care sector could be for you, get in touch with us.
